MORREN GALLERIES, founded in 1993, is a leading Dutch gallery for figurative art with two locations in The Netherlands: Amsterdam and Utrecht. Both galleries are situated in the vivid cultural and historical hearts of the cities: two hidden gems but actually easy to find, just like Hotel The Dylan. MORREN GALLERIES is displaying a few pieces of their art at The Dylan in Brasserie OCCO, meet the artists!

Billy&Hells are two photographers: Anke Linz en Andreas Oettinger. They met in 1986, found a shared interest in photography and became partners in work.

Inspired by the photographs of Irving Penn and Helmut Newton, Billy&Hells started to work in the field of fashion photography. They accidentally came across a technique that would define their future works. By forgetting to take a black and white negative out of a Wühltisch developer, they developed a beautiful Baryt picture. This  process is now known as a Lithprint. Later on they discovered that combining a black and white slide from a colour negative with a colour picture, a photograph emerged with fantastic effects. Because of this technique, the colours are reduced but give an intense effect. In 1999 they started working professionally for adverting campaigns  and magazines (Air France, BMW, Audi, Cosmopolitan, etc.) However, this branch of photography did not provide them the artistic freedom they were looking for.

In 2000 they settled in Berlin and somewhat later started exhibiting their autonomous series of photo’s at Morren Galleries wich is untill this day their main representative. Their work was featured in shows at a.o. the Gemeente Museum in The Hague, the Maritime Museum Rotterdam, London National Portrait Gallery. Since 2012 they are represented in the US by Fahey Klein Gallery in Los Angeles.
