Although February only counts a single Valentine’s Day, we just cannot get enough of all that romance. We therefore decided to stretch the Valentine’s spirit throughout the entire month and honor Cupid’s favorite places in the city. Embrace the love of your life and wander around amorous Amsterdam.
Chinese New Year
Ron Gastrobar Oriental and the Chinese Quarter
The months starts with a bang on Chinese New Year. Go east on the fifth of February, dine in style at Ron Gastrobar Oriental and taste some of the most exciting dishes, inspired by the traditions of China. Then stroll hand-in-hand to the Chinese quarter and admire the rituals of the Chinese New Year. The highlight of the day is the celebration at the Fo Guang Shan He Hua Buddhist temple on the Nieuwe Markt.
On the Amstel River
The Skinny Bridge is traditionally one of Amsterdam’s most romantic places. Once the 1200 lights on the arches of the bridge are illuminated, the monument turns into a true pilgrimage for lovebirds. Cruise the canals and set foot on wall at the Skinny Bridge to say “I love you”. Then, according to the legend, you should kiss each other as passionately as you can, to be in love forever.
Amsterdam’s most striking art-deco style cinema is a feast for the eyes. Look out for a romantic movie at Pathé Tuschinski and book one of the theater’s ‘Love Seats’. These two-seater sofas are located on the first balcony of the main hall. Book a special love package and we have no doubt that you will surprise your spouse in every possible way.
