Another beautiful month in Amsterdam; to shop, eat, drink, explore, admire and of course… dance.

October 1, 12.00 till 17.00
De Hallen, Hannie Dankbaarpassage
A monthly event In De Hallen, a modern and hip indoor market in a former tram station. The Maker Market offers a place for makers and their products; whether it be peanut butter, wine or furniture. In addition to this it’s Cultural Sunday in Amsterdam and there will be live music performances from 16.00 until 17.00.

October 18 – 22
Various locations
Every year in October Amsterdam turns into a playground for fans of electronic music from all-over the world. With more than 140 locations and over 2.200 performing artists, ADE is the biggest club festival in the world for every imaginable electronic sub-genre. It is the best week to fall forever for Amsterdam’s nocturnal charms.

October 27-29
Beurs van Berlage
The biggest beer festival in The Netherlands, located in one of Amsterdam’s most iconic and beautiful locations. Taste over one hundred beers, from big and small breweries, mingle with likeminded locals and enjoy some live music to top it off.

Until the 27th of November
Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam
De Stijl has always been intricately linked to Amsterdam’s museum of Modern Art since magazine The Stijl was first published in 1917, exactly 100 years ago. This exposition has been running for almost a year and will soon end, so enjoy this opportunity to get a little more familiar with this famous and radical Dutch art movement, that inspired and continues to inspire designers, creators and artist all over the world.

Javastraat 49
At Fondue Oost, a new restaurant on the lively Javastraat; they understand very well that there is no better cure for October blues than dipping fresh bread in hot melted cheese and sipping crisp white wine. The menu offers classic fondue, but there is also a very intriguing Mexican option.

Rokin 21-49
Minutes away from the Bijenkorf another luxury department store just celebrated its grand opening in September, turning the Rokin officially into the street you should avoid if you are on a budget. If you think that a budget is a very relative concept, take a couple of hours and your credit card to visit Amsterdam’s most swanky new store. And be assured; Hudson Bay, apparently, is a little less highbrow than the Bijenkorf.

October 21, 10:00 till 18:00
Royal Tropical Institute
For the real chocolate lovers among us, there is an event in the Royal Tropical Institute that will make all your chocolate fantasies come true. From tasting and pairing, chocolate talks, meeting the chocolate makers to music, arts and kids’ activities. This event will give some extra attention for art, trade and sustainability within the chocolate world. This wonderful chocolate event is for all ages!
