Strawberries, flip-flops, Manu Chao in a hot car, mowing the lawn every bloody week, pistachio ice cream, and birds in Sycamore trees… Ladies and gentlemen, the summer has arrived en will be over in a heart beat so plan your time wisely.
Spectacular star-lit locations, good movies (Seven! Brad Pitt when he was young and beardless and before he fathered a tribe of adopted children), comfortable chairs (yes!) and great food and drinks. All you need to do is check the website or follow Rooftop Movie Nights on social media, so you are in time to buy tickets.
July 13 – November 14
Stadsarchief, Vijzelstraat 32
A foto exposition that will leave you aching for a time you weren’t even born. Or perhaps you were, but you were two years old and you were definitely not riding a tram with a beehive haircut and a cigarette dangling from your lips. Or perhaps you were, and that makes all of us jealous, because we know that those days and that city, that filthy, hippie, unruly city, are gone for good.
Enjoy a 36 euro 3-course menu, overlooking Amsterdam’s magnificent IJ. The menu offers cheerful, finger licking classics such as steak tartare, roast chicken, or ceviche, served with a modern twist. Hangar is located right on the water, so don’t forget to bring your swimming trunks.

Pride Amsterdam kicks of at Zandvoort, or “Amsterdam Beach” according to our smooth city marketeers. There are two events planned on the 30th of July, one party with dj’s starting at 11 am and a concert with a pleasantly hysterical lineup starting at 6 pm. If you prefer to stay in the city; the famous Canal Parade will be on the 4th of August.
